Why is SLS and paraben free hand wash and soap better for your hands?

The wait is over! After years of customers’ requests, months of careful planning, hard work and vigorous testing, we are now proud to announce the launch of Palm Safe Premium Hand Wash.

Our premium hand wash is SLS and paraben free. But what does that actually mean and why should you care?

Sulphates, including sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate (SLS), are synthetic detergents, originally developed for the laundry industry.

While great at cleaning most fabrics and objects, sulphates are, unfortunately, a harsh way to clean your hands. Sulphates like sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate don’t just lift away dirt and grime, they also strip away the delicate layers of natural moisturisers that protect, smooth, and keep your skin optimally healthy.

Parabens are a group of preservatives added to many cosmetic products, including hand washes, primarily to prolong their shelf life and to prevent the growth of bacteria or mould within them.

Skin sensitivities and allergies can commonly be caused by parabens. These occur by repeated exposure of parabens to the skin, and then the immune cells in the skin slowly but significantly mount an immune response to when parabens subsequently come into contact with the skin.

Parabens aren't just bad for humans; they impact the environment too. They are believed to cause harm to marine life, where they've been found inside sea creatures and are also believed to damage and kill coral.

Our hand wash is made in Scotland and is SLS and paraben free, cruelty free, and vegan. We have gone a long way to assure we go beyond every standard and make our hand wash something truly unique. It will leave your hands clean, moisturised and smelling great.

Our customers choose our hand sanitisers because they are not willing to settle for anything but the best. And now they do not have to deal with subpar hand wash either.
